Mt. Manalmon and Mt. Gola Twin Day Hike + Monkey Bridge

Writer's picture: sayaramaesayaramae

Another weekend to spend for me and my friends so we decided to do the twin hike - Mt. Manalmon and Mt. Gola in San Miguel Bulacan.

Aside from hiking, there are also other things that can be done in the place like swimming, spelunking, visiting the "Biak-na-Bato" National Park and the Monkey Bridge challenge.

How to get there?

From Cubao bus terminal, ride a bus going to Gapan, Nueva Ecija. Inform the conductor that your destination is in San Miguel, Bulacan. Then, get off to Barangay Camias near the gas station, and ride a tricycle going to Barangay Madlum.

Upon arriving at the jump-off, we registered and hired a tour guide. And of course, we prayed first before we started the hike.

Here's the river that separates the two mountains.

The first is to conquer Mt. Gola. We need to cross this river to get there.

On our way up, there's this trail that we need to use a rope that will pull us up. I wasn't able to get photos on the trails that we passed by because it rained that day.

Just in time,we finally reached the summit of Mt. Gola.

This is me, Joy and my sister May.

After the photo ops at the summit of Mt. Gola, we decided to descend. It took us an hour to get back to the river we crossed earlier. But before we go to Mt. Manalmon, we went to "Biak-na-Bato" National Park. It's a cave where we saw stalactites and stalagmites.

Then after that, we continued to hike going to Mt. Manalmon. We were surprised to see a line of hikers taking turns in the summit. So while waiting for our turn, we decided to take our lunch first.

At the summit of Mt. Manalmon.

After our individual shots, here's our obligatory group picture. :)

Then, we go back to the jump off to take the Monkey bridge challenge.

It looks easy but it was really hard. Well, at least for me. :)

Look at my friends enjoying the water right below us.
