Mt. Lubog in Rizal + Panintingan Falls

It got into my curiosity when my friend told me she wanted to go to Mt. Lubog. What's with it's name "lubog"? So I immediately did a research and found out that it's a mountain in Rodriguez, Rizal having the limestone formation at it's summit. Then I told myself. Ahh, maybe that where it got it's name.

How to get there?

We left Manila early in the morning at around 3AM. We rode FX in Cubao going to Rodriguez, Rizal. Fare is Php 50.00 each. When we reached the Gas Station in Rodriguez Rizal, we immediately looked for Habal-Habal driver that will bring us to Sitio Puray Brgy.Lubog.

The Habal-habal is different from a normal tricycle because it has no roof and it only has woods where we can sit. Since we are a group of five we rented two of it.

We stopped and took a little time enjoying the sunrise. :)

Groupie. That's me, Ivan, Iris, Dan and ate Kat.

We were actually enjoying the the habal habal ride until we reached the part where our butt stated to hurt because of the uneven and rocky road. That's where I realized why it was called lubog. Truly enough the road is lubog lubog. :)

There were even part where we needed to get offf the habal habal because it can't go through with us in uneven, muddy and inclined road.

Then we reached the part where we registered and hired a tour guide. We paid for Php 50.00 each for the registration fee and Php 1000.00 for tour guide fee.

From here at the jump-off we can see the summit of Mt. Lubog.

We started the trek at around 7 AM. The trail is not that technical but it can really be muddy when raining.

We got hungry so we decided to eat. :)

At around 11 AM we finally reached the summit.

I was amazed with the summit. It is full of limestone.

This is us taking a little rest. There's a little tree cover enough to hide us from direct sunlight.

We started to descend at around 12:30 PM. The trail back is along Panintingan Falls so we decided to take a dip.

We stayed and enjoyed the water for an hour.

Trail going back at the jump-off.

We really enjoyed our Mt. Lubog adventure. I think what I enjoyed most aside from the summit is the habal-habal ride. :) It is definitely worth a visit. Thanks to Ate Kat, Dan, Ivann and Iris.
