Maranat Falls in Norzagaray, Bulacan

Maranat Falls is a popular side-trip for hikers after climbing Mt. Balagbag. It is located at the boundaries of Bulacan and Rizal.

To be honest the original plan of the group was to hike Mt. Balagbag first then to Maranat Falls. But because we heard something that happened at Mt. Balagbag the night before we came, we decided not to go there and go directly to Maranat Falls.

How to get there?

From Cubao, ride a bus going to Tungko and get off at the last bus stop. From there, go to their public market and look for their jeepney terminal. Ride a jeep going to Licao-Licao. The first trip is usually at 5AM. Mt. Balagbag and Mt. Maranat has the same jump off.

When we arrived at the jump-off, we registered first and hired a tour guide.

Since we will no longer go to Mt. Balagbag, we don't have time to catch up. A chill hike for us.

The first part of the trail was a grassy open field.

Me and my friends.

Then the second part is this rocky trail.

It lead us to the fist part of the falls. Some hikers spent their time swimming here.

But we decided to hike up and go to the water source. To cross this river, we had an option to go in to the water or to use this rope.

After we crossed the river, we continued hiking to the main falls. We passed by a lot of rock formations and mini waterfalls.

It never disappoints us when we arrived at the main, where the water is coming from. The water is clear and is really cold. We spent our time swimming and enjoying here.

We saw this cute little creature. But we returned it to the water after taking a picture.

After swimming, we decided to return to the jump off. We passed by this "Mini-stop". We ordered all of these. :)

We really enjoyed our Saturday at the falls. It recharges our energy to face the challenges at work come Monday. wow! :)

I'm an ECE by profession and a traveler by heart. A timid, introvert girl who wants to step out of her comfort zone.

I just woke up one day dreaming to discover and experience what life has to offer. I don’t want to lock up myself from the 4 walls of my workplace.

This blog is a personal diary of  my experiences that I wanted to share.
